Anime Ascendants Gem Sources and Spend Order
Where gems drop, what 50-gem summons cost, and how Tokens differ.
Gems are the summon currency in live Anime Ascendants. One standard pull costs 50 gems. That number is the whole budget language of a new account: a first-clear, a daily, a Trivia pack, and a code toast are all “how many more 50s did I just earn.” This page is the source map plus the spend rule. Desktop and mobile share the pouch. Public servers hold 16 players. You do not need a private instance to collect anything listed here.
If you just installed the experience, skim Getting Started so the lobby NPCs exist in your head, then come back to this list when the question is “why is my pouch empty.”
Every real gem source
Codes. The burst. Promo strings after patches, holidays, and apology notes dump gems (and often tokens, coins, cubes, trait rerolls). Redeem in the lobby at Naruto or with the Codes button. Live strings sit on the codes hub. Codes are per Roblox account, case-sensitive, and they expire. A YouTube recitation from last month is not a source. Treat a big blueberry-style toast as several dozen standard summons, not as a license to roll every banner on screen.
Story first-clears. The unlock tree. Every new story chapter (and many first-time mode clears) throws gems at you. This is the F2P backbone. Rush early chapters even if the clears look messy. Sitting in Chapter 1 to “perfect” a starter squad delays both the gem bonus on Chapter 2 and the raid unlock that pays Magic Tokens. Routing lives on story mode. Replay an easy act twenty times for pocket change only if you already took the first-clear and you have a reason.
Raids. The late faucet. Raids are famous for Magic Tokens, but they also contribute gems and event shop currencies over a session. You unlock them by pushing story. If raids are still grey, you are not “behind on banners” — you are behind on chapters. Do not skip this source because a video only filmed Trivia.
Legend stages. The evolution farm that also pays. Crystal stones and evo items are the headline. Gems still show up on clears and first-time acts. Run legend for the part you need (Cursed Academy for Itadoki, and so on), and bank whatever gems the toast adds. Legend is not your primary gem grind; it is a grind that happens to pay.
Trivia. The two-minute lobby quiz: ten questions, four answers, one timer, gems and Magic Tokens on the toast. Full rules and the reported question list live on Trivia. Use it between matches. Do not replace story with a quiz streak.
Dailies and quests. The login drip. Daily missions, quest rows, and pass tracks print a small gem trickle plus XP. Claim them when you spawn. They will not outpace a first-clear night, and they will outpace a night you forgot to open the quest panel. If a quest says “clear a story act,” do that act on purpose instead of idling in the plaza.
Group. Join the official Anime Ascendants Roblox group (community 15762744). The group is how most accounts pick up a free Miki Exclusive, and group rewards / wall drops are part of the early pouch. Join before you summon so the unit and any group grant are sitting in the index. This is not a second gacha. It is a one-time (and sometimes seasonal) grant you should not skip.
Those seven are the list. There is no hidden eighth faucet that only works in a VIP server. AFK chamber talk is about parking a board you already built, not about a secret gem tap.
50 gems a summon, and when to stop rolling
The standard banner is 50 gems per pull. That is the clean number this wiki uses everywhere. Early mythics (Hosino, Megomu), farm (Bolma, Senko), support (Orwin), and accessible splash (Shonks, Hosoko) live on that banner. Limited rotating banners cost more attention than they cost gems: they rotate, they compete with the pouch you still need for Chapter 3, and they will still be there after raids open.
Do not dump gems on random banners until Chapter 3. The rule is not “never whale.” The rule is that first-clear gems and code toasts are earmarked for the 50-gem standard summon until the story board has opened raids. Raids are the Magic Token faucet. Tokens are what you later spend on premium summons and Miki. Emptying the pouch on a flashy portrait in Chapter 1 is how accounts own a pretty index and no raid clear.
If a limited banner is genuinely the current meta (a Berserk window, a Cycles of Fate secret), confirm it on the events page before you break the rule. The default advice stays: story first, 50-gem banner second, everything else later.
Stop summoning on a given night when you have a farm and a support, or when the pouch is empty. Spreading ten pulls across “maybe this Secret is Sukuno” is a misunderstanding of obtainment. Sukuno is an evolution. Gems do not print that name as a finished day-one Secret.
Magic Tokens versus Gems
Writeups mix the two. They are not the same currency.
Gems buy summons, mostly the 50-gem standard pull on a new account. Sources: codes, story first-clears, raids, legend, Trivia, dailies, group grants.
Magic Tokens buy Miki trait rerolls (commonly 1 token per roll) and feed the premium summon lane. Sources: raids first, then Trivia, codes, challenges, index milestones, and the pass. Tokens are scarcer than gems before raids exist, which is why this page keeps telling you to rush chapters.
Stat Cubes and Perfect Stat Cubes are a third item. They roll stats, not the 17-trait table. Trivia and some codes drop them. Do not spend a Perfect Cube thinking you purchased Ascendant. Do not spend gems at Miki; Miki wants tokens.
A useful filter when a toast lists four currencies: gems → summon budget, tokens → trait budget, cubes → keeper stats, coins → the next match’s placement curve. Sort the toast before you open the Summon room.
A pouch you can actually follow
- Join the Roblox group. Redeem every live code.
- Finish the tutorial. Clear opening story chapters. Take every first-clear gem bonus.
- Run one Trivia pack if you have two minutes.
- Claim dailies / quests.
- Summon on the 50-gem banner only, until a farm and a support exist.
- Push to Chapter 3 so raids light up. Then tokens start to outgrow quiz toasts.
- After raids are open, gems can follow events — but only after you still have a carry plan.
If the pouch is fat from a holiday code and you still lack Bolma, the 50-gem banner is the correct dump. If the pouch is fat and you already have farm, support, and a mythic, hold the rest until you know whether this week’s event shop is the real sink.
Gems you spend on a banner you do not understand are gems you will not have when Chapter 3 asks for another 50. Codes, first-clears, raids, legend, Trivia, dailies, and the group are enough of a map. Fifty a pull, no random banners until the raid board is lit, and Magic Tokens stay in their own pocket. That is the gem plan for a live 16-player tower defense, not a second gacha essay.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for codes, traits, summons, and story progress.
How many gems is a standard summon?
50 gems per pull on the standard banner. Treat every toast as “how many more 50s is this.”
Should I spend gems on limited banners as a new account?
Not until Chapter 3, when raids (and Magic Tokens) are in play. Until then, stick to the 50-gem standard summon. See Getting Started.
What is the fastest gem source today?
A live code burst, then story first-clears. Redeem the codes hub list first, then push chapters on story mode.
Does Trivia replace raids for gems and tokens?
No. Trivia is a short lobby quiz that pays both. Raids are the main Magic Token faucet. Use Trivia between matches.
Are Magic Tokens the same as gems?
No. Gems buy summons. Magic Tokens buy Miki rerolls and premium pulls. Cubes are a third, stat-only item. Do not mix the three at the vendor.
