Anime Ascendants Squad recipes and placement
Beginner through endgame comps, raid rules, Infinite breakpoints, and 2x speed.
This page is a recipe book, not a live team calculator. It will not read your box or auto-fill six slots. Copy a recipe that matches your account, then place units with the range and speed notes at the bottom. Anime Ascendants is a released Roblox tower defense with online 16-player servers on desktop and mobile; the recipes do not change between platforms, but range rings are easier to see on desktop.
If you need names ranked instead of slotted, open the units tier list and best units. If you need the farmer and buffer explained as roles, open farm and support. Story routing lives on Story Mode. Trait spend order lives on the trait planner.
Beginner story recipe
Farm: Bolma or Senko
Legendary: Touci or Orwin
Mythic starter: Hosino or Megomu
This is the first squad that actually clears chapters instead of leaking on the third map. Bolma is the better farmer; Senko is the cheaper substitute while you still summon. Touci is the best legendary DPS for this bracket; Orwin is the buffer you will keep forever, so building him early is not a waste. Hosino and Megomu are the mythic starters that carry story until Shonks or Hosoko show up.
How to play it: place the farmer on wave 1, let cash tick, then drop the legendary and the mythic on the longest straight line. Do not max the mythic before the farmer is producing. If you joined the official Anime Ascendants Roblox group, you also have a free Miki exclusive — use her as a filler slot, not as your only DPS.
New accounts should still do the lobby basics in Getting Started and redeem whatever is live on the Codes Hub before they try to force a mid-game recipe with empty slots.
Mid-game recipe
Carry: Shonks or Hosoko
Support: Orwin
Farm: Bolma
Shonks covers a large hitbox and holds mid-game waves without a secret. Hosoko is the mythic wave-clear upgrade when you pull her. Orwin stays. Bolma stays. This is the squad you take through later story acts, early challenges, and the first raids you are allowed to enter.
Swap rules: if you have Touci but not Shonks, Touci still works as a legendary DPS until the mid carry arrives. If you have Senko but not Bolma, keep Senko until Bolma drops — do not run two farmers and zero buffers. If you pulled Goju, he can sit as a second support DPS behind Orwin, not as a replacement for the farmer.
Endgame recipe
Carry: Sukuno, Yuto, or Itochi
Support: Orwin
Farm: Golden farm (Bolma with Golden, or the current best farmer you own)
This is the default late-game triangle. Sukuno is the raid nuke (often via Itadoki evolution). Yuto is the burst raid DPS. Itochi blends damage with support effects and still belongs in this row. You do not need all three; you need one that you actually upgrade, evolve, and trait. Orwin’s buff is why endgame still brings a support instead of a fourth DPS. The farm unit must wear Golden so cash keeps up with upgrade costs on long raids and Infinite.
Evolution steps for the carry live on how to evolve. Do not start a 400-wave Infinite with an unevolved secret and a Strong I farmer.
Raid boss recipe
Trait on the carry: Berserker or Slayer
Do not spread Ascendant.
Raid bosses are HP sponges. Berserker (+20% damage, −15% CD, +35% boss damage) is the intended kit. Slayer (+10% damage, +5% range, +25% boss damage) is the keep if Berserker has not landed. Put that trait on the carry, not on Bolma, not on Orwin, not on a second copy of a mid DPS.
Ascendant is a one-placement global aura. One unit in the lobby wears it. If three people in a 16-player raid each put Ascendant on a different filler, you have not “spread power” — you have each locked your rarest trait onto a unit that cannot be placed next to another Ascendant, and you have starved the actual carry. Skip spreading it. One carry, one aura, rest of the team built to ride the global buff.
Bring the endgame triangle (carry + Orwin + Golden farm) and spend extra slots on a second boss hitter only after the farmer is down. Raid length makes farm more valuable than a sixth DPS that you cannot afford to upgrade.
Infinite recipe
- Wave 1: place the farm unit. Nothing else.
- By wave 15: the carry should be placed and maxed (or as close as cash allows), with Orwin in range.
- Around wave 50: this is the DPS check. If leaks start here, the carry is under-traited, under-upgraded, or sitting on a short corner instead of the long path.
Infinite is an economy test dressed as a wave mode. Players who drop six units on wave 1 starve the carry and die at the check. Players who greed farm until wave 20 with no DPS also die at the check. The breakpoint is: farm immediately, carry online and upgraded by 15, then stop placing toys and let the triangle work.
If you are still leaking at 50 with this timing, the problem is the carry’s trait or rarity, not a missing seventh unit. Go back to the trait planner and the traits tier list.
Placement limits
Every unit has a placement cap. Ascendant adds a hard rule on top: only one Ascendant-traited unit may be placed. Plan the loadout so that cap is the carry. Do not bring two Ascendant copies “just in case” — the second is dead weight.
Farm units do not need line of sight the way DPS does. Park Bolma or Senko in a safe corner or on a short spur so they do not steal the long-path tiles. Orwin wants to cover the carry; place him so the buff radius (and his own shots) actually hit the lane the carry is holding. AoE carries (Shonks, Hosoko) want the bend or the longest straight where enemies stay in the cone. Single-target nukes (Sukuno, Yuto) want the same long path so every shot is spent on the tankiest target, not on a stray that already died to splash.
On mobile, zoom out once before you lock the first placement. On desktop, turn the camera so you can see the full path. In a 16-player lobby, other players’ units occupy tiles too — do not drop your carry on a one-tile pocket someone else already filled.
Range coverage
Coverage beats stacked circles. Three units on the same tile leave the back of the path free. One carry on the longest straight, one support overlapping that straight, and one farmer off the path will beat six units piled on spawn.
Range traits (Range III, Supernova’s +10% range, Ascendant’s +15% plus global +20) exist to fix awkward maps, not to replace a correct tile. If your carry cannot see the lane, move the unit before you spend tokens on Range I.
2x speed usage
2x speed (game pass or in-match toggle, depending on what you own) is a farming tool, not a panic button.
- Turn it on after the farmer is placed and the carry is down, especially on story chapters you already know. It cuts grind time on desktop and mobile alike.
- Turn it off when you are learning a new map, micro-placing around other players, or approaching a boss spawn you have not beaten. Speed hides leaks until they are three tiles from the base.
- Do not enable 2x on wave 1 of Infinite before the farmer exists. You will skip the economy window you needed.
Story clears you have already won are the right place to live in 2x. First attempts at a raid act or a new Infinite personal best are not.
How to use this builder in a real lobby
- Pick the recipe that matches your box, not the recipe you wish you had.
- Assign traits with the trait planner so the carry, farmer, and support each have the right kit.
- Place farm first, carry on the long path, support overlapping the carry.
- Use 2x only after those three are down.
- If the match is a raid, confirm Berserker or Slayer is on the carry and Ascendant is not split across fillers.
The Tools Hub is the parent for this page. Patch changes to unit kits land first on updates and events. Do not rebuild the endgame triangle because a leaky story map wanted more AoE — fix placement first.
Lock the loadout before you press ready. A 16-player lobby is a bad time to discover that Bolma is still in the inventory and Hosino is wearing your only Berserker. Copy the recipe, place the farmer on wave 1, and let the carry exist by wave 15. That is the whole builder: three names, a tile, and a speed toggle you actually remember to use.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for codes, traits, summons, and story progress.
What is the beginner story squad?
Farm Bolma or Senko, legendary Touci or Orwin, and mythic Hosino or Megomu. Full placement notes are in the recipe above and in Story Mode.
Should I spread Ascendant across the raid team?
No. Ascendant is a one-placement carry aura. Put Berserker or Slayer on the raid carry and skip spreading Ascendant onto farm or support.
When do I place the farm unit in Infinite?
Wave 1. Max the carry by wave 15. The DPS check is around wave 50. See farm and support for why the farmer stays in the squad.
Is this a live team calculator?
No. It is a static recipe list. It does not read your Roblox inventory. Pair it with the units tier list for names you do not own yet.
When should I use 2x speed?
After the farmer and carry are placed on maps you already know. Turn it off for new raids, tight placement in a 16-player lobby, or Infinite wave 1 before the farmer exists.
