How to Reroll Traits

Traits are the second power spike in Anime Ascendants after evolution. The same Sukuno with Range I and the same Sukuno with Ascendant are not the same unit. There are 17 traits in the live pool. Most of them are stepping stones. A few of them are why a one-placement carry deletes a raid boss. This page is how you roll, what it costs, and which trait you should actually keep.

You should already have a farm, a support, and a carry worth keeping. If you do not, go back to Getting Started and how to evolve before you stand at Miki. Tokens spent on a C-tier starter are tokens you will not have when the real unit lands.

Two ways a trait appears

1. Pre-rolled on summon (rare). A unit can walk out of the 50-gem banner with a trait already attached. There is no reliable way to force this. If it happens on a unit you will keep, treat it as a bonus. If the trait is Range I on a future carry, you will reroll it later. If the trait is Golden on Bolma, you may never touch that unit again.

2. Miki in the Summon room (the real method). This is the repeatable path.

  1. From the main lobby, walk into the Summon section.
  2. Enter the Summon room and turn immediately right.
  3. Find the NPC named Miki under the large orange Traits sign.
  4. Press E (or the mobile interact button) to open the Traits screen.
  5. Select the unit you want to roll or reroll.
  6. Hit the pink Reroll button.
  7. Keep the result if it matches the role table below. Reroll again if it does not.

You cannot move a trait from one unit to another. Each roll is stuck to the unit you selected. Desktop and mobile use the same Miki menu on the same 16-player online servers; only the interact button changes.

Magic Tokens versus Stat Cubes

Writeups mix two different rolls. They are not the same currency.

Trait reroll is what Miki’s pink button does. The common cost is 1 Magic Token per roll. Magic Tokens drop from raids (the reason you rush early story), from trivia, from codes, and from challenges, index milestones, and the pass. If a code recites “tokens,” redeem it at Naruto before you start a session at Miki.

Stat Cubes and Perfect Stat Cubes are a related but separate stat-roll item. They show up in trivia rewards, some codes, and shop bundles. They are for stat lines, not for the 17-trait table on this page. Do not spend Perfect Stat Cubes thinking you just bought an Ascendant roll. Do not spend Magic Tokens on a unit whose stats you meant to cube. If a guide says “reroll traits with Stat Cubes,” it is collapsing two systems. Miki + Magic Tokens is the trait path.

Tokens are scarce. Buy extra from the shop only after the free sources (raids, trivia, codes, pass) are empty and the unit in the chair is actually a keeper.

All 17 traits, with drop rates

Rates are the published pool for the re-release. They will not save you from variance—Ascendant is still 0.1%—but they tell you when to stop and when to keep clicking.

TraitApprox. rateRole
Ascendant0.1%Meta DPS, one placement. Team-wide buff plus huge personal stats
Singularity0.125%Meta DPS, one placement. Pure damage when you do not have Ascendant
Golden0.3%Farm units. Damage plus money
Berserker0.4%Secondary DPS / bosses
Supernova0.5%Support and all-rounders. Range plus cooldown
Slayer~0.7%Secondary DPS / bosses (slightly weaker Berserker)
Godspeed1%Beginner keep. Best generic cooldown cut
Strong III / Nimble III / Range III~4.25% eachBeginner keeps. Fine until an S-row lands
Expertion~4.925%XP grind only. Reroll on a raid carry
Strong II / Nimble II / Range IImid poolTemporary. Replace
Strong I / Nimble IcommonReroll when you can afford it
Range IcommonWorst keep. Always reroll on a unit you care about

Ascendant’s headline numbers are why people camp Miki: large personal damage, range, and cooldown, plus a global buff to the rest of the board, with a one-placement cap. Singularity is the personal-damage alternative with the same placement tax. That cap is the entire reason you do not put either trait on a support.

Role mapping (keep this, reroll that)

Meta DPS (one placement): Ascendant or Singularity. These are the only traits that deserve a long token sink on Sukuno, Yuto, Itochi, evolved Itadoki, and the current raid carry. Stop on either. Do not “try for the other one” until you have tokens left after the rest of the squad is playable.

Farm (Bolma, Senko): Golden. The money line is the point of the slot. A farm with Ascendant is a wasted cap. A farm with Range I is a wasted wave 1.

Secondary DPS: Berserker or Slayer. Boss percent is the reason these exist. Use them on the second carry so you are not burning 0.1% odds on two names at once.

Support (Orwin, Goju, Gambler): Supernova. Range extends the aura. Berserker or Slayer are acceptable if Supernova will not show up. Do not put Ascendant or Singularity on support. The one-placement limit fights the whole reason you brought a buffer: coverage. A support that cannot be placed where the team needs it is not a support.

Beginner (no S-row yet): Godspeed, Strong III, or Nimble III. Godspeed is the minimum “I can stop clicking” result on a new carry. Expertion looks tempting because the rate is high; it is an XP trait, not a raid trait. Keep it only on a unit you are leveling in story, then replace it.

Use the trait planner to lock that mapping before you open Miki, and confirm the live order on the traits tier list. The planner exists so you do not improvise a Golden Orwin because the color looked rich.

Who is allowed to sit in Miki’s chair

Reroll:

  • The farm you will still place on wave 1 next month.
  • The support you will still place for the aura.
  • The evolved (or about-to-evolve) carry.

Do not reroll:

  • C-row and D-row fillers, including Niruto Kid, Goko, Luffo, and the rest of the nostalgia bench.
  • A unit you will replace when the next legend-stage drop lands.
  • A unit whose evolution item is not even in the inventory yet, unless it is already your only carry.

A double or triple trait can happen. It is rare. Do not plan an account around it. If it happens on a keeper, keep any S-row piece and only reroll if the extra trait is actively bad for the role (Ascendant on Orwin is still wrong even if it came with Golden).

A token budget you can actually follow

  1. Bank Magic Tokens from raids, trivia, and codes until you have a keeper in the index.
  2. Golden the farm first. Income makes every other upgrade cheaper, including the next raid that drops more tokens.
  3. Put Godspeed / Strong III / Nimble III on the carry so story and early raids stop leaking. That is the stop-loss, not the end goal.
  4. Sink the remaining tokens into Ascendant or Singularity on the one-placement DPS.
  5. Supernova the support last if tokens are tight; range is luxury compared to a live carry.

If you are still rolling Range I into Strong I on a C-tier unit, close the Traits window. The Guides Hub and the units tier list will tell you whether that name was ever allowed to spend a token.

Tokens spent on C-tier units are tokens you will not have when Sukuno finally sits in the chair. Park Miki until the roster is worth the pink button, then roll for the role, not for the glow.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for codes, traits, summons, and story progress.

Where is Miki?

Enter the Summon room from the lobby and turn right. Miki stands under the orange Traits sign. Press E, select a unit, and hit the pink Reroll button.

Do trait rerolls cost Magic Tokens or Stat Cubes?

Trait rerolls at Miki commonly cost 1 Magic Token each. Stat Cubes and Perfect Stat Cubes are a separate stat-roll item. Do not mix the two.

What is the best trait in the game?

Ascendant (0.1%) is the meta DPS trait: huge personal stats plus a global team buff, limited to one placement. Singularity (0.125%) is the backup one-placement DPS trait. Neither belongs on Orwin, Goju, or Gambler.

Which trait should I put on Bolma or Orwin?

Golden on farm units (Bolma, Senko). Supernova on supports (Orwin, Goju, Gambler). Confirm the pairing in the trait planner before you spend tokens.

Should I reroll traits on every unit I own?

No. Never dump Magic Tokens into C- or D-tier units. Roll the farm, the support, and the evolved carry. Leave the rest.

Can I transfer a trait from one unit to another?

No. A trait is stuck on the unit you rolled. The only way to change it is another Miki reroll on that same unit.
