Anime Ascendants How to use the official Trello
Columns still help with old SAD names — Discord is the live source of truth.
The official Trello is an archive with columns, not a live patch feed. Anime Ascendants used to be Special Anime Defense. The boards below were the public encyclopedia for that era. After the 2024 rework, cards stopped moving at the same pace as the game. You can still use them as a dictionary. You should not use them as the reason you spent 200 Magic Tokens.
Anime Ascendants is a released Roblox tower defense (place 15601725874) with online 16-player servers on desktop and mobile. The people who ship it post on Discord first. This page teaches you how to read the boards without treating a 2024 card as a 2026 balance note.
The two boards
- Primary bookmark: Official Special Anime Defense information v1 (
y6xvORVA). This is the board most guides still link. - Older board: Special Anime Defense (
ddVYhvvc). Even staler. Open it only when a pre-rework screenshot still uses a name you cannot find on the v1 board.
Both titles still say Special Anime Defense. That is expected. The rework renamed the experience to Anime Ascendants; the Trello URLs did not all follow. If a random “Anime Ascendants Trello” is not one of these two IDs, treat it as unofficial.
How to read the columns
Trello is a set of lists (columns) full of cards. You do not need an account to read. You need an account only if you want to subscribe to a card, which is pointless here because the board is not the live feed anymore.
Units
Unit cards were the original roster dump: rarity, damage type, AoE shape, how you obtained the unit, and sometimes a short kit note. This is the column you open when a 2024 YouTube video says a name that no longer matches the in-game roster.
Map old SAD names onto current wiki names with the units tier list and best units. If the card says a unit is S-tier and the wiki (or Discord) says it was nerfed after the rework, the wiki/Discord row wins.
Traits
Trait cards listed the same families you still roll at Miki: Strong / Nimble / Range tiers, Golden, Supernova, Berserker, Slayer, Singularity, Ascendant, and the rest. Odds and exact numbers on a frozen card can be wrong. Use the card to remember what the trait is supposed to do, then confirm numbers on the traits tier list and the spend order on the trait planner.
Maps
Map cards covered Story layouts, lane shapes, and which chapters existed in the SAD era. Story was rebuilt. A card that says “chapter 4 is a U-bend” might still help you recognise a reused path; it might also describe a map that no longer exists. Walk the current chapter in Story Mode instead of routing from a screenshot of a card.
Evolution
Evolution cards listed materials, NPC locations, and which base unit became which evolved form (for example, older notes around Itadoki → Sukuno). Evolution still exists in the live game, but costs and steps moved. Use the card as a hint for which unit evolves, then follow how to evolve and Discord for the current material list.
Challenges
Challenge cards described modifiers, rewards, and who could enter. Challenge rotation is exactly the kind of thing a frozen board gets wrong. If you are chasing Magic Tokens or Stat Cubes from challenges, believe the in-game UI and the events page, not a card last moved in 2024.
Status: outdated after the rework
The 2024 rework changed modes, kits, names, and the lobby. Trello did not get a matching full rewrite. That is why this wiki tells you, repeatedly, that Discord is the live source of truth.
What the boards are still good for:
- Translating a pre-rework name (“SAD”, old unit spellings, old map titles) into something you can search here.
- Seeing the original intended role of a unit when a new patch note is vague.
- Finding a mechanic you forgot existed (a challenge modifier, an evolution branch) so you know what to ask in Discord help.
What they are bad for:
- Current trait drop rates
- Current codes (those are never on Trello first; see codes)
- Current raid and Infinite breakpoints (use the team builder)
- Anything that says “meta” with a date before the rework
Workflow that does not waste an evening
- Open the v1 board. Find the column (units, traits, maps, evolution, challenges).
- Open the card. Copy the name, not the numbers.
- Search this wiki or ask in Discord help: “current name / current kit for X”.
- If Discord and Trello disagree, keep the Discord answer and move on.
- If you only needed a historical name, you are done. Do not subscribe to the card.
On desktop this is a two-monitor job (Trello + game). On mobile, screenshot the card title and close Trello before you join a 16-player lobby. You will not place Bolma correctly while pinch-zooming a 2024 list.

Trello is not a fake site. It is an official board that stopped being the encyclopedia. That distinction matters: you can trust that a card was written by the project, and you still cannot trust that it is true today.
Read a 2024 card as a dictionary entry, not as a patch note. If the column taught you that Bolma is the farmer and Orwin is the buffer, good — those roles survived. If the column taught you a drop rate, a chapter order, or a code, throw that line away and open Discord. The board’s job now is to decode old Special Anime Defense names so you can play the live 16-player game without arguing with a ghost list.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for codes, traits, summons, and story progress.
Is the Anime Ascendants Trello official?
Yes, the two boards linked above were published for Special Anime Defense / Anime Ascendants. They are official and also largely stale. Confirm anything current on the Discord page.
Which Trello board should I open?
Start with [y6xvORVA](https://trello.com/b/y6xvORVA/official-special-anime-defense-information-v1). Use the older [ddVYhvvc](https://trello.com/b/ddVYhvvc/special-anime-defense) board only for names you cannot find on v1.
Why do the boards still say Special Anime Defense?
That was the game's name before the rework. The live Roblox place is Anime Ascendants (ID 15601725874). The Trello titles were not all renamed.
Can I use Trello instead of the tier list?
Do codes appear on Trello?
Not as the first drop. Codes land in Discord, then on the Codes Hub. A Trello card that mentions a code is almost certainly expired.
