Anime Ascendants Sukuno, the Line-AoE Nuke
Evolve Itadoki, plant the long path, pair Orwin and Bolma.
Sukuno is the S+ endgame argument in live Anime Ascendants. The evolved kit is a line-area nuke that melts raid bosses and keeps scaling through deep infinite. It is a scalpel that happens to delete parades: plant it on the longest straight, finish the upgrade tree, and stop feeding cash into starter leftovers. Public lobbies are still 16-player online tower defense on desktop and mobile. Teammates can cover a leak. They cannot evolve this unit for you.
Sukuno is not a random banner Secret you luck into on day one. You obtain Itadoki from the Cursed Academy legend stage, then you evolve Itadoki into Sukuno. The line-AoE kit is why the name sits at the top of the units tier list. If you are still pouring gems into a glowing portrait hoping the gacha prints “Sukuno,” you are on the wrong obtainment path.
Pair this page with how to evolve before you dump crystal stones, and lock the finished triangle in the team builder.
What the kit actually does
Unevolved Itadoki is a legend-stage unit you can raise and clear with. Evolved Sukuno is a different job. Line AoE hits a path segment. Enemies stacked on a corridor, boss parades, and long straights all take the full packet. Wide pads and fan-out trash are a worse match — that is Shonks or another full-AoE name, not a reason to bench Sukuno, just a reason to place it where the line is real.
Late upgrades matter more than the portrait. A rank-one Sukuno is not the clip you saw. Cash has to exist, which is why this page will not shut up about Bolma. Raid bosses and infinite HP bars are sponges; the nuke only looks unfair after the tree is paid.
Shiny coats wait until account level 5 and they are not a tier. An evolved non-shiny Sukuno with a real trait still outruns a sparkly starter. Do not freeze Cursed Academy to hunt a skin.
How to get Sukuno (the only honest route)
- Push story until legend stages and raids are in play. Cursed Academy is not a tutorial node.
- Unlock and run Cursed Academy. That is the Itadoki obtainment path. Later acts pay denser guaranteed drops — grind the hardest act you can clear, not Act 1 forever.
- Raise Itadoki enough that the unit survives the farm. You do not need a perfect trait on the base form.
- Collect the evolution items and crystal stones from those same legend acts (and related JJK flashback content if it is the cheaper stone source that week).
- Evolve Itadoki into Sukuno. The button is the spike. The 50-gem banner is not.
Itadoki is not vendor trash while you wait. Final Vessel / flashback variants can still be meta in their own right. The destination is still Sukuno. You do not pull finished Sukuno as a standard day-one summon, and you should not stall the legend farm because a Secret banner is on screen.
If you cannot clear Cursed Academy yet, keep a temporary carry (Free Ren, Shonks, Hosoko, Touci) and come back. Do not park Ascendant on a unit you have not evolved. The best units page is the rest of the carry manual if Sukuno is still a week away.
Trait: Ascendant or Singularity, not Golden
Ascendant (one placement, personal stats plus a global buff) is the trait you want on this nuke. Singularity is the personal-damage alternative with the same one-placement tax. Stop on either. Do not “try for the other one” until the rest of the squad is playable.
Golden does not belong here. Golden is the farm trait: damage plus money, which is Bolma’s job. Putting Golden on Sukuno turns your S+ line nuke into a confused farmer and leaves the actual farmer on a worse roll. Putting Ascendant on Bolma is the matching mistake in the other direction.
Because Ascendant and Singularity cap placements at one, the first tile you confirm is the tile you live with. Preview the range on the longest path. In a 16-player public, do not drop the one-place carry on a pocket someone else already filled.
Secondary boss traits (Berserker, Slayer) are acceptable on a second carry, not as an excuse to skip the mythic roll on Sukuno once tokens exist. Range I on this unit is a reroll, not a keep.
Pair with Orwin and Bolma
Sukuno does not replace the economy. A lobby with three Sukuno clones and no farmer still starves. The default late-game triangle is:
- Carry: Sukuno on the long path, Ascendant or Singularity.
- Support: Orwin, aura overlapping that path. Supernova if you have it. Do not put the one-place mythic on the buffer.
- Farm: Bolma on wave 1 (Senko until Bolma drops), Golden.
Place farm first, then Orwin where the packet touches the future carry tile, then Sukuno. Upgrade farm until income is a slope, then dump into Sukuno. By mid-waves the nuke should be the unit doing the work. Extra C-tier bodies on the grass steal cash from the tree that makes line AoE look unfair.
Charmi-style money amps, if you own them, sit next to Bolma. They are not a second Sukuno. Yuto remains the raid-burst alternative if you need a named-enemy window; Itochi remains the hybrid. You do not need all three S+ names. You need one that you actually evolved and traited.
Infinite uses the same triangle louder. Farm on wave 1, rush Sukuno’s upgrades, expect a real DPS check around wave 50. A Golden Bolma is how the last ranks exist when that check arrives.
Placement: long paths, not spawn hugs
Line AoE wants enemies in a line. Hugging spawn is correct only when spawn is also the longest overlap. On a map with a long straight, the circle belongs on that straight. On a map with a stacked corridor, the circle belongs on the stack. Move the preview before you confirm. On mobile, zoom out once after the countdown so the line is visible. On desktop, orbit until spawn, bend, and the carry tile are all in frame.
If a legend act or raid still leaks after Sukuno is evolved, change one thing: the tile, Orwin’s overlap, or the farm timing. Then the trait. Then a second DPS. Buying another banner because “Sukuno is not working” is usually a coverage problem wearing a gacha costume.
Who should not be in the feed pile
Crystal stones, duplicates, and Magic Tokens that could finish Sukuno should not go to Niruto Kid, Goko, or Luffo. Those starters have no evolution ceiling worth the feed. Hosino and Megomu can carry story until Cursed Academy is legal; they are bridges. Touci is a legendary crutch. None of them are the destination this page is about.
Feed order when stones are scarce: evolve Itadoki → Golden the farm → trait the nuke → Supernova the support. Reverse that order and you own a pretty Itadoki and a broke raid.
Sukuno is the line-AoE nuke you evolve from Itadoki on Cursed Academy, not a Secret you fish from the 50-gem banner. Plant the long path, pair Orwin and a Golden Bolma, and put Ascendant or Singularity on the carry — never Golden. That is the S+ kit, and that is the only obtainment sentence this unit needs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for codes, traits, summons, and story progress.
How do I get Sukuno?
Farm Itadoki from the Cursed Academy legend stage, collect the evolution items and crystal stones, then evolve Itadoki into Sukuno. It is not a random day-one banner Secret. Steps are on how to evolve.
What trait should I put on Sukuno?
Ascendant or Singularity. Both are one-placement DPS traits. Do not put Golden on Sukuno; Golden belongs on the farm unit.
Who do I pair with Sukuno?
Bolma (Golden) on wave 1 and Orwin’s aura on the carry tile. Lock that triangle in the team builder.
Why does Sukuno feel weak on a wide map?
Line AoE wants a long path or a stacked corridor. Move the tile before you reroll. Full-AoE names cover pads; that is a placement match, not a reason the S+ row is wrong. Compare kits on best units.
Is Sukuno still S+ if event secrets are live?
Yes. Limited banners change what you farm this week. They do not delete the evolved line nuke. Confirm the live row on the units tier list.
